As a long-standing tradition in the East Tennessee area, the Jonesborough Days is an exciting two day festival celebrating the nation's birthday and local heritage. Each year there is music, food, crafts, a children's area, a Civil War Encampment, a Celtic Village, Native America Village, and a County Fair including some more recent additions to the activities you will find there. There is no admission fee for most areas, with few exceptions.
Other activies include:
Jonesborough Days Parade - Kick off the area's most patriotic weekend with the Annual Jonesborough Days parade.|
Doc's Front Porch & Main Stage - The festival will feature a variety of storytellers and musicians on the plaza at the International Storytelling Center during the day. The Main Stage will feature live bands each evening ranging from rock n roll to country acts.
Discovery Park - At this kid-centered area you'll find lots of hands-on ways to experience activities such as McKinney Center Arts classes, Oak Hill School sessions complete with a schoolmarm, heritage games and more!
Contests and Socials - Moon Pie eating contests, a watermelon social and dogs in bikinis all make for a ton of fun at Jonesborough Days!
Craft Vendors and Festival Foods - Shop at over 70 vendors booths, showcasing local handmade crafters. And of course, you'll find great festival foods with everything from BBQ and tacos to funnel cakes and lemonade.
4th of July Fireworks - The Jonesborough Days fireworks display creates the perfect end to this 4th of July festival.
