Birthplace of Country Music Museum

The Birthplace of Country Music Cultural Arts Center is host to many temporary and permanent exhibits that trace the history, cultural influences, and development of country music through a sequence of audio-visual experiences which allows visitors the opportunity to listen to the melodies and encounter the rich musical tradition first hand.

The Birthplace of Country Music Cultural Arts Center includes space for educational initiatives through educational programming for all ages, live musical performances, lecture and film series, and other outreach activities. The renovated structure provides BCMA with a permanent facility to house its operations in furtherance of the organization's mission, which is: "To tell the story of the musical and cultural heritage of the region, its role in the birth and development of country music, and its influence on music around the world".

After visiting the museum and enjoying a bit of shopping and dining in downtown Bristol, guests on Appalachian GhostWalks' "Haunted Historic Bristol GhostWalk" will thrill to the stories and history of downtown's surprising wild and wooley past along with a bit more on the Birthplace of Country Music heritage. A Few Reviews From Past Vacationing Guests

Our Ghostwalk was Jonesborough. It was a great time! Stacey was super knowledgeable about the town's history and had a lot of stories about experiences that he and others had in the town. Photos were taken and we were able to see orbs in them, which was more than we were expecting. If you have any interest in the Paranormal, I would highly suggest this tour. - TripAdvsior - ForestFaye1022

My fiance and I were given a gift card for Christmas to go on a tour of our choice. We chose the Abingdon, VA tour and we were not disappointed! Our guide, Stacey, did an amazing job and was very informative; we loved how he used historical facts to connect the many ghost stores and sightings of the downtown area. The tour was originally a 2-3 hour tour but lasted almost 4 hours! We will definitely be booking another tour. Thanks, Stacey! - Kelsie Deaton

Johnson City Little Chicago Ghost Tour - Plenty of favorite parts about this experience. Person who led the tour was very knowledgeable not only about the paranormal side of things but extensive knowledge of history. Great personality and amazing at communication. Gave me a whole new outlook on ghost hunting. I can't express enough how much I enjoyed the tour! - Malia Z.
