Andrew Johnson Visitors Center

The Andrew Johnson Visitors Center and Andrew Johnson National Historic Site honors the life of the 17th President. Andrew Johnson's presidency, 1865-1869, illustrates the United States Constitution at work following President Lincoln's assassination and during attempts to reunify a nation torn by civil war. His presidency shaped the future of the United States and his influences continue today.

Guests on the Appalachian GhostWalks' "Haunted Historic Greeneville GhostWalk" hear more about the life times of the former president and gain an enriching understanding of the very historic and often mysterious town in which he resided. He is also buried here in a Presidential Cemetery with many intrguing stories in both history and mystery!!

Andrew Johnson was a man with whom nearly every American can relate, from the poorest to the wealthiest. With unyielding determination, he rose from dire circumstances to the nation's most prestigious office without having attended a single day of school.

The "Haunted Historic Greeneville GhostWalk" is presented daily and/or nightly, year-round. Reservations are required so call (423) 743-WALK (9255) for reservations by telephone, or RESERVE NOW ONLINE.

A wonderful experience for us! We thoroughly enjoyed our Abingdon tour. It was so nice to have just our very small group of 4 on the tour. It felt personal and comfortable. Stacey is truly such a blast to be around and very knowledgeable! We had such fun and learned quite a lot of interesting history! - Lucky B. Sirois

Tipton-Haynes Ghost Tour - We had a great experience on the Tipton-Haynes ghost tour. It was a fascinating mix of early east TN history and haunted tales in a fantastic historic location. Going to try the Jonesborough tour next, with Erwin on the list for later. Highly recommend. - TripAdvisor - Jcmd2003
