Welcome to Hidden Mountain Observatory's home on the web! We are located in the high mountains of East Tennessee near the Tennessee and North Carolina border. When clear skies prevail here, they can be quite dark. While "seeing" conditions can vary greatly, due to various ever changing climatic factors, in general, on a good, clear night you can see the Milky Way, the Andromeda Galaxy, and many other celestial wonders with the unaided eye. We look forward to utilizing our new observatory, with an official open date of August the 1st, 2023, to present new and interesting photographs of the night sky.
