Our area truly has much to offer the way of our heritage and culture. While we don't have time, or space enough to list them all another great addition to the above is Tipton-Haynes State Historic Site (Haunted) in Johnson City. A cabin was built here and occupied by Col. John Tipton, who is the 6th great uncle of Appalachian GhostWalks' Tour Director, Stacey Allen McGee. This historic site is featured along with our on-site tour entitled the "Historic Tipton-Haynes GhostWalk"...
The ETSU Campus - Gilbreath Hall (Haunted) | The last stop under this package name defines why we may have named it "Spook and Study". In this package, we feature our ghostly tour of the campus of East Tennessee State University (Haunted) - one of East Tennessee's most historic campus'. Our "Haunted Historic ETSU GhostWalk", begins at the campus' clock tower with the toll of the bell, setting the 'tone' for our tour. For this package, we feature the DoubleTree Hotel... |
Soutern Appalachian history goes back farther than some people used to think. Recent discoveries made while excavating have revealed fossils dating to between 4.5 and 7 million years ago. An impressive and rapidly increasing list of fossils include ancient rhinos, tapirs, turtles, alligators, short-faced bear, weasels, red panda, rodents, and others, plus fossilized plant remains. The Gray Fossil Site opens in June 2007 and as is the case with all of our "Spook and Save" partners, will offer discounts on admission to guests traveling Appalachian GhostWalks. Remember, you may combine any of our ghostly tours with your choice of the attractions listed on this page...
William King Regional Arts Center | The "William King Regional Arts Center" is thought to be haunted as it is an old school, but it's also a wonderful museum where the exhibits change every three months so it's never the same museum. This item is featured with our "Historic Abingdon Virginia GhostWalk", beginning at the Abingdon Convention and Visitor's Bureau just off Exit 17 from I-81 on Cummings Street... |
Fields-Penn House Museum in Abingdon, VA | The "Fields-Penn House Museum", built in 1860, is also thought to be haunted, but it's also a wonderful museum where reinactments by people in period dress show life as the Fields and Penn families knew it. This item is also featured with our "Historic Abingdon Virginia GhostWalk" where you'll learn more about the museums resident spirits! |
The Historic White's Mill in Abingdon | "White's Mill", built in the late 1700s, is haunted by the ghosts of several Native American Indians - specifically, the Cherokee. It delights visitors with fresh ground grains made with old world charm. This partner is also featured with our "Historic Abingdon Virginia GhostWalk".
