We have been identified for another prestigious honor by yet another agency in the Tourism Industry and it is our happy pleasure to share the news with you and your readers... ### Press Release FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Appalachian GhostWalks Selected as "Official Best Of History Tours in Tennessee" In a letter dated May the 18th of 2009 from the Associate Producer of "Official Best Of", Appalachian GhostWalks has been selected as the “Best History Tours” in the State of Tennessee. If financially feasible, the company will be featured in a two minute segment of their television special “The Official Best of Tennessee - 2009” and on their internet travel website at www.OfficialBestOf.com. The half-hour hour television program will air on Saturday August 22nd at 1 PM on News Channel 5 CBS in Nashville, Tennessee. Associate Producer of the show, Paula Griswold, said in the letter, "Your highly regarded ghost and history tours are our top choice for the state and we would be honored to feature historic walking tours of this caliber in our production." The “Official Best Of” solicits nominations for their website after they have searched online travel resources to determine which nominees will be named “best of”. They also said that no attraction can contact them for inclusion and that the selection process is rigorous with extensive research that requires positive reviews from a minimum of three independent sources. Their website receives over 75,000 visitors a month and traffic on the site surges after each TV airing of a new state. They are currently working their way through all 50 states. On January the 22nd of 2009, the New York Times published an article entitled “Online Reviews of Hotels and Restaurants Flourish” about the rising importance of online sites that filter through thousands of restaurant, hotel and attraction reviews. These sites - like "Official Best Of" were said, as per the article, to condense this information into organized categories. Griswold said that they have one important distinction. She said, "We are the only site with video segments about each of the award-winning attractions selected as the best in each state and Appalachian GhostWalks has approval of this two-minute segment." She continued by adding that the television program and website will feature only twelve (12) Tennessee attractions, each in a different best of category. Griswold closed by saying, "We look forward to showcasing Appalachian GhostWalks as the Official Best History Tours in Tennessee." ### End Release
